About Chuckleberry Community Farm

The Chuckleberry community is based on 21 acres of land that has been established for more than 30 years. Two acres of the land is in concentration cultivation – utilizing small footprint, high yield intensive organic farming practices. We are in our 15th farming season.

The central farm building is a 2000 square feet annualized geo solar earthship that is predominantly heated and powered by the sun. Of our outside crops, we have 25 insulated raised bed hoop houses that support year-round cultivation right through the Kootenay winter. Chuckleberry Community Farm grows food not just for physical nourishment, but for relationship development, for personal growth and for the building of community resiliency.

The vision for Chuckleberry is to generate a place of thriving abundance blossoming on many levels. We endeavor to maintain a local, high quality food production system providing dependable food security to the Kootenay and Okanagan valleys. Chuckleberry is known for inspiring the personal growth and ever-deepening connection of all those involved to the simple, magical nature that guides their life.
